Who doesn’t love fresh foods straight from the farmers themselves? Farmers’ markets are everywhere in the greater Pasadena area, you just have to know where to find ‘em and when they’re happening. Coincidentally, I know both. So peruse the list below and see which one fits your shopping fancy!

Pasadena Farmers’ Market on Villa Street

  • When: Tuesdays from 8am – 1pm
  • Where: 363 East Villa Street
  • Who: Certified growers, food artisans, and floral and plant vendors
  • When it comes to food artisans, come taste everything from Korean BBQ and gourmet jerky to chocolate and homemade breads; certified growers’  products include olives, honey, dates, apples, beef, berries, oranges, eggs, guacamole, mangos, you name it. Beautiful florals and plants are offered here too.

South Pasadena Farmers’ Market on Mission Street

  • When: Thursdays from 4pm – 8pm (rain or shine and every Thursday but Thanksgiving!)
  • Where: Mission Street in South Pasadena
  • Who: Argicultural and non-agricultural vendors
  • Named “Best Evening Farmers’ Market” by LA Weekly, “Best Farmers’ Market” by Pasadena Weekly, and “Best Market East of Hollywood” by, the South Pasadena Farmers’ Market knows what’s going on. And it should—it’s been around for thirteen years. Whether you come to taste at the market or bag items to go, there’s something here for everyone (this includes figs, nuts, garlic, potatoes, yams, veggies, berries, cheeses, milk, olive oils, herbs, to name a few of the agricultural vendors; and for non-agricultural vendors, Korean BBQ, kettle corn, pies, cookies, juices, sausages, teas, and spices.)

Pasadena Farmers’ Market at Victory Park

  • When: Saturdays from 8:30am – 12:30pm
  • Where: in the 2900 block of North Sierra Madre Blvd (in front of Pasadena High School)
  • Who: similar to the farmers’ market on Villa Street, vendors include certified growers, food artisans, and floral/plant growers.

Old Pasadena Farmers’ Market on Holly Street

  • When: Sundays from 9am – 2pm
  • Where: Holly Street between Fair Oaks and Raymond Avenue
  • Who: Certified producers, pre-packaged food vendors, prepared food vendors, misc. artisans
  • One of the newer markets in Pasadena, the Farmers’ Market on Holly offers more than the typical certified growers and food vendors; other services include pet adoption, impromptu hand-typed poetry, and various free activities for kids, including art demonstrations, crafting workshops, and science fun!
