“A tiny cafe and candy kitchen on the edge of town. It’s where we gather to prepare and eat fresh delicious food, drink strong coffee, listen to great music and surround ourself with art, neighbors, friends and community. Little Flower is a great place to meet a friend or make a new one. We can’t wait to serve you.”
Little Flower Candy Co .
To say we love this place is an understatement. Being big-city people at heart (we’re talking adoring NYC, London, Tokyo, Chicago), We’re always on the hunt for that hip, urban cafe; alfresco dining; unique menu; write-your-next-novel-cafe vibe. And we found it, right here in Pasadena.
Little Flower Candy Co. is located just over the Pasadena bridge, on the way into Eagle Rock. It may be small, but it’s packed with charm. Inside, walls are lined with goodies, from the store’s own candy (caramels and marshmallows) to cookbooks, olive oils, kids toys and more. And that’s just the beginning. Up front, dozens of yummy baked goods sit atop platters and are constantly being replenished straight from the oven (which, up until recently, resided right in-house.)
The menu is full of healthy ingredients too. From kale and daikon radish, to baked tofu and brown rice, items here are good for the body, mind, and soul. Our favorites? Any of their delicious soups (all taste like Grandma made them), the Vietnamese salad (mixed greens, shredded carrots, cilantro, etc.), and their buttermilk pretzel rolls. Ah-mazing. Mouthwatering. Deliciousness.
Which leads to the final reason why we love this place so much. Their baked goods. If Little Flower’s pastry chef Cecilia Leung ever needs a home gig, we’d hire her in a second. Because the coffee cakes, fruit tarts, croissants, cookies, and muffins we’ve tasted here are as yummy as they come. And paired with one of their bold cups of coffee or teas? Perfection.
