October is a time for fall celebration—even in Southern California

A father and his children sport matching costumes and prepare to trick or treat during the 6th annual Trunk or Treat event at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., Oct. 25. Dozens of service members and their families gathered and volunteered for an evening of family fun and lots of candy, hosted by 3-2 Stryker Brigade.

Yes. It’s fall. I promise! While weather in the 90s, 80s, even 70s doesn’t help my case, there are some fun events coming up that will back me up. Like One Colorado’s annual pumpkin decorating day, next Saturday, October 24th. There’ll be glue sticks; markers; and pumpkins, of course—for a first-come-first-served basis. So get your girls and boys here as early as 10am if you want to ensure them a pumpkin! (Event lasts from 10am-12pm.)

The Saturday after that is Halloween—can you believe it? And once again, One Colorado has you covered. From 5pm to 8pm, bring your kids in their costume for some fun store-to-store Trick-or-Treating along Colorado Blvd. Once they’ve collected all the candy they can hold, head back to the courtyard and pose for a family portrait. Then? (Yes, there’s more.) Grab a seat for a spooky (but family friendly) flick! “Mad Monster Party takes place on Dr. Frankenstein’s Island of Evil, where he’s corralled his monster buddies for his retirement and naming of his successor.” (Movie shows from 7:30pm-9pm.)

All the fun is located at One Colorado Courtyard | 41 Hugus Alley
