“When you support the Pasadena Humane Society, you help animals in Arcadia, Bradbury, Glendale, La Canada Flintridge, Monrovia, Pasadena, San Marino, Sierra Madre and South Pasadena.” Wow, eh? That’s a whole lot of animals in a whole lot of places. Which means when you support the Pasadena Humane Society (PHS), you’re helping provide food and shelter to abandoned cats, dogs, birds, rabbits, hamsters, and more from all over the area. Feels good, no?
The PHS is an independent, donor-supported, non-profit agency. They’re not apart of any national animal organization, which means all funds given to PHS stays at PHS. Plus, they take in all animals regardless of age, medical condition, breed or any other criteria.
But more than providing food and shelter to abandoned animals, the PHS also offers a myriad of other services. Including humane education (pet care classes, dog training classes); a spay and neuter program; wildlife (relocates/rehabilitates wildlife); pet supplies; lost and found; and dog boarding.
Knowing that a humane society cares so much for the animals in the surrounding nine cities offers peace of mind when adopting or purchasing a new pet. When my husband and I purchased a poodle (from a pet store), we were eager to stop by the PHS for help. The staff was extremely friendly (cleaning up a mess our 8 week-year-old puppy made) and informative, setting up a vaccination schedule for us. Their calm demeanor was much appreciated by two very new dog owners!
So whether you’re interested in adopting an animal at the shelter, purchasing pet items in their store, or taking advantage of their helpful staff, stop by the Pasadena Humane Society today!
