All right, Pasadena. Let’s get ready to walk. On September 26th, the American Heart Association is hosting their annual Heart Walk at the Rose Bowl. The route? A 5K walk and 1 mile Survivor Route. Time? Registration starts at 7:30AM; the walk at 9AM. The purpose? To raise awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle. After all, cardiovascular disease and stroke are the number one and number five killers in the nation.
Signing up is free (and so is parking), so why not join? Gather a team and walk for a purpose. “The money raised through the Heart Walk funds research, and initiatives that promote the prevention, treatment and better patient care in the areas of cardiovascular disease, the leading killer in the United States,” writes the American Heart Association.
For those of you with kids, no worries! A kid zone offers fun activities and information about having a healthy heart. And be sure to grab a bite at one of the sponsor booths.
